The opening concert’s two works give us the opportunity to reflect on the time we have been through, which in many ways has been a hard and cold time throughout the world – but both Nørgård’s and the Messiah’s music opens up hope and brighter times. Not least ‘Kvartet til Tidens Ende’ which was premiered during World War II in a prisoner of war camp with fellow prisoners and their guards as listeners. A vision of the transformation of our world into another.
